As we move into 2021, we want to thank all of the families that entrusted the Adventures on The Hill Team with their little ones this past summer. 2020 was a tough year for the world but we have learned a lot and are now more prepared than ever to bring an amazing summer camp experience. Our commitment to the health and safety of our community is the foundation. To say that these times are unprecedented and confusing is an understatement.
One thing we have learned this past year is to remain optimistic as we plan to come out on the other side stronger and even more excited to see our families again this summer. As we move forward to planning our summer 2021 in person summer camp, we are determining the most efficient ways to increase healthy and safety. COVID-19 has changed the way we interact with the world. We are hopeful that as the COVID-19 vaccine penetrates through our society, this pandemic may began to subside and we may begin to incorporate our regularly scheduled programming in the safest way possible. As we learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine and its availability, we wanted to let you know the steps we are taking to remain one of the healthiest and safest place for your child this summer. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for all of our staff to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
We believe our staff may have access to the vaccine as early as March/April. With this goal in mind, we are advocating that state regulatory agencies prioritize counselors as frontline workers, so they can receive the vaccine sooner than later. We will also do our best to make sure vaccination is at no cost to our staff. We strongly believe that this is the right thing to do for you and your family. We hope that by assisting all of our staff with access and encouraging them to get the vaccine, even more families like yours will have confidence in our counselors’ care and the health and safety of our spaces.
Planning for in person camp this year has already begun and we promise to continue with the highest safety precautions and cleaning standards while bringing your child an amazing summer camp experience. We understand that while much of summer camp will be the same as in years past, there is much that will alter in order to conform to a safer environment. For example, field trips and traveling on busses may look different. Adding new activities, more staff, and curriculum that focuses on our kids mental and physical health will take place. We will rely on the guidance of our health and licensing professionals, and our state and local officials. We understand that those guidelines are fluid and have the potential to be updated throughout the months leading to summer and the foreseeable future.
We remain committed to everyone’s health and safety within and outside of Adventures on The Hill throughout this pandemic. We wish everyone a Happy New Year!
